I’m panicking now. I am. Where do we go from here? Who will take us? Where will the promise landblog be?
Just wait; you will qualify for senior discounts before you know it.
That’s the kind of irrational pedantry that usually defines the system and makes this act of compassion so refreshing. The purpose of the non-contact order is so the parents/defendants can’t discuss their testimony before the trial. They cannot do so on camera in front of the issuing judge. She could have been an…
You’re 100% right and I retract my nomination
Absolutely not. We her, and need more people like her, in lower courts, where day-to-day decisions get made.
I have a jar full of change to contribute to the auction. It’s worth, I don’t know, probably like $12 now. Jezzie owned Jezebel!
I’d suggest you read up on “de jure” vs “de facto” segregation. TL;DR: It doesn’t matter what your gut tells you should happen, because of whatever “common-sense” bias-driven notion you’re embracing. We all have common sense, and it’s often wrong, but never uncertain. That’s why facts matter. And legally speaking, all…
You’re kinda being deliberately obtuse here. Asking for ID in order to provide a fundamental right, when you know that older people, poor people, and minorities are less likely to have the required ID is ageist, classist, and racist. Checking ID before entering a private club is a different thing, and you know it’s a…

My first thought; “I’m going to eat that fucking baby!” I then grabbed my own child and kissed her cheek until she hit me.
What, you don’t like being on fire?
No animosity here! Just a bit of incredulity. Your post was clear that you understood the current legal framework and weren’t arguing against it, but it bears spelling it out when offering a fully-formulated response to your question. Didn’t mean to condescend, if I did.
Hiring someone because they have engaged in sexual acts with you or for your pleasure (or under that condition that they do) is quid pro quo. Always. Someone does not already have to be your employee for that to be ethically and legally wrong. Ailes brought her into his massive business empire and coerced her into…
she “[lured] young female Fox employees into one-on-one situations with Ailes
I seriously love that this thread became a list of all of the reasons people still use pencils. :)
You should have seen that there were people who did "just their job" and others who did more than the minimum required to get the paycheck. That is the case at all levels of economics. So yes, thanking people is universal, good for you, and good for the world generally.
I've done an M.S. and Ph.D., and although my career is in research I've been an adjunct professor too. My advice:
1. Get it out of the way if possible. I got my BA in three years, and went to grad school right after. By the time my friends had one degree, I had two. And because I lived with my family at the time, I got enough fin aid for it to be essentially free. I'm now light years ahead in my career.
Don't cut corners on self-care. Try to eat as well as your budget will allow (I used a CSA, which was a timesaver and made it so I always had fruit and vegetables in the house). Go to the gym/yoga/whatever you do for exercise at least three times a week. Your brain needs that oxygen to do what it does, so don't use…
