I liked her a lot when I was in High School, but as I got older I found her less funny. I’m not sure why.

Yeah, this seems like a much more likely explanation. I doubt hardcore Christian Evangelicals are the huge demographic this writer seems to be assuming them to be.
Oh yeah, definitely. The guy who voices the mom on Bob’s Burgers is funny on the show (as in, great delivery) but I don’t really like his stand-up.
Yeah, I don’t even know why I gave it a chance. I thought maybe she’d changed a little since her awful Comedy Central show. I still can’t tell if she has, but she’s definitely still a terrible comedian.
I’ve experienced that with a lot of female comedians, where I don’t really like their stand-up but I love their social media posts, interviews, and their writing for scripted comedy shows.
Neat, thank you! I know there are some female comedians I enjoy when I listen to 2 Dope Queens (I love the hosts, Phoebe Robinson and Jessica Williams, they’re hilarious; unfortunately I’ve never heard their stand-up), but I never follow through with looking into more of their work. I definitely think it’s all on me…
I only made it through the first half because it was seriously unfunny. No n-word, though!
I think I need some recommendations for good female comedians. Reading this mostly just left me feeling a little sad when I realized all of my favorite stand-up comedians are men.
We’re fortunate in that it’s easy to travel to other countries from Germany, at least if we stick in Europe, so at least the flight will be shorter. I can’t imagine doing a long flight with a baby. The last time we went from the USA to Germany, we were in coach and two babies were taking turns crying. I felt very bad…
One of the reasons my husband and I are putting off kids is because we want to travel. Bringing a baby along just doesn’t sound fun, and we don’t want to put off travel until they’re old enough to be bribed with candy/a toy for being good on the flight. Even if we traveled without flying, I still think bringing a kid…
Watching kids eat is just one of the many things that make me think that I don’t, in fact, want kids someday.
We’ll have to agree to disagree. That is conventional attractiveness. One need only look at how women are photoshopped to fit those ideals to see what conventional attractiveness is in our society.
It may be where you live. I’ve only seen five of my female friends without makeup, and while I would never say they’re unattractive, they’re definitely not conventionally beautiful. I also have a softer opinion on their appearance than a stranger might have because I know them. Once you know someone, your opinion of…
If the intention was to make her look black, or at least more “ethnically ambiguous,” then it’s still blackface.
I was gonna say...it looks more like they had someone’s nephew who just learned photoshop take care of this one, and he just made the entire picture darker and called it a day.
lol fuck whoever it is on the jury that thinks he’s innocent (or, more likely, doesn’t think what he did was a big deal because they’re a terrible person themselves), and holding up this open-and-shut case.
While seal clapping.
“Conventionally attractive” is the key phrase here. If you disagree, name some examples; I’m 100% willing to admit I’m wrong. Hell, I’d even like to be; it would be nice to know there are some women out there that actually meet conventional standards of beauty so I know those expectations come from a real place, and…
I just got teary at the very idea. :( If only Michelle would run. *sigh* But she doesn’t want to.
Oh I definitely agree that’s one of the bitchy white lady haircuts, but I have still experienced an inordinate amount of shit baggery from blonde women with the “swoopy between haircuts” cut from the meme, so I’m biased against that one as well now.
