Yeah if they go ahead with this I’m out. I put up with a lot on Fallout 76 but this would be it for me.

It's literally censorship!

Except Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo has also payed third party developers to develop exclusive games for their consoles. Yeah Epic getting exclusive deals for games that were announced for Steam originally was kind of a dick move but they also don't have much a choice.

What's so wrong about that? Again, it's free.

How does it effect you as a consumer though. It's a free storefront you don't have to pay for.

It also means a lot games that wouldn't have been made got made.

Part of the problem is that Epic Store is shit. If they had launched with more features I don't think the backlash would be as strong.

I’m not sticking up for Epic, I just think a lot for the anger is way overboard. So you have to have another account to keep track of. How many streaming services, forums, digital storefronts are we all signed up for now? Just off the top of my head it’s 11. What’s one more exactly? And I’m sorry but that’s the price

But security isn't great on Steam either. Plus is Steam's layout much better. I actually find it hard to find any quality content unless I'm specifically looking for one game. Plus review bombing is an issue. I don't want to Waid through the "I don't like this dev being a SJW" reviews to get to the ones with actual

That's fair.

I'm not convinced Steam is a good prospect to release a game on anymore. Most major releases can survive on their own launchers and most Indies are burrows under shit and asset flips.

Its absolutely legitimate to complain about the lack of features. They have the money to make something at least comparable to Steam.

...didn’t it?

OK I disagree with the Steam defenders on a lot of things but yes. A new service needs to be at least comparable to Steam. They have money. They can do it.

And say “fuck it, steam". There is no other choice for Epic but to have exclusive content.

Says a console gamer who had to pay $500 to play exclusive content.

I agree with the first bit. Epic Games needs to do a better job at selling a consumer product. I just don't get the big deal with having to download a launcher.

Ok but so what? They don't take up that much room, they don't as far as I know fuck with your computer and they're all just a click away. It's not that big of a deal.

That's true for consoles. Not, I expect, for PC. It's a free service not a $500 machine.

Yeah but they shouldn't have to start from scratch. They need to start with Steams features not ad them in incrementally.
