I’m assuming this is a joke, because no one could legitimately hold such an absurd position.

No.
UGH. One of the communities near me did a similar thing where they had sidewalks that would alternate between bike path + curb and then 50 foot section of sidewalk on both sides of the road to “calm traffic.” The sidewalk would be in the same place as the bike path was for the last couple hundred yards. And since, as…
About half of the winning Darwin Award stories involve someone lighting a cigarette.

Statehood would be better.
Even if Puerto Rico was a different country, which it isn’t, his license would STILL be valid for driving in the US if he’s not a Texas resident.
Lol at the cop not knowing what a REALID license is.
His license is obviously valid as much as Louisiana or any other state mentioned, but Texas law does require a person to get a Texas DL within 90 days of establishing residence in the state. So if the gentleman actually is a Dallas resident and has been for more than 90 days, he’d technically be in violation.
This is only slightly less stupid than the idiots who think New Mexico isn’t a state.
The state of Texas requires that peace officers have at least either a high school diploma, GED or were honorably discharged from the military after at least 24 months of active-duty service.
It would be absolutely necessary to have your base of operations in a state where if you need to abort the launch, it’s legal to do so.
If the engines are running fast enough to suck a grown man into them, then the plane is either starting its engines, or has completed start-up and is about to taxi off the ramp onto the runway. Either way, a physical barrier like you describe would be in the way at the time and could possibly damage the plane.
As a person that works in unsafe environments I can tell you if this was an accident, they could have encased that engine in a electrified cage surrounded by a moat filled with angy crocodiles, and some idiot would have found a way inside of it.
In the 18 months I worked the ramp in PHL 30 years ago:
The US also uses Pu-238 because it won’t flat out kill you if you happen to be in the same room with it. PU is an alpha source, and while it’s toxic as a substance, alpha radiation isn’t all that dangerous unless you ingest it or breath it in. There have even been (ill-considered) experiments (some without telling the…
Ah, Communist USSR. They were always ready to sacrifice the safety (and lives) of their citizenry chasing that great big red dream of Utopia.
The funniest thing I will hear this month will be a Finnish guy saying “what the f***”
VHAAT DAH FAHHHHK!!!
Yeah...Im pretty sure I saw that one coming. Plexiglass on the other hand...
No, that’s pretty much what I expected
