At risk of being pilloried, only diehard fanboys are going to see this film.  This is the equivalent of the Star Wars prequels with Jar Jar Binks.  Yes, it is that bad.

The tone of the film felt, at times, very reminiscent of the more epic parts of Thor Ragnarok, and the fact that a brotherly feud and a search for a magical weapon were the crux of the plot reminded me of the similarities to Thor again and again. Atlantis even has a bridge entrance! 

I saw the early screening on Saturday and I also enjoyed it for the goofy, campy fun it was. It felt like Flash Gordon underwater but made in 1998. There was something VERY 90s action film about it that felt intentional and winking. In terms of quality, I don’t know how I would compare it to the Marvel films. …
