The 35 cannon is both armor piercing and fused with explosives. It can kill most armor. The A-10 will also not be using its cannon to kill armor. That’s what PGMs are for. I’m ok with the hog if funded separately. I’m not sure that 2% estimate includes basing, storage of parts, or retirement for the airmen etc.

The 35 can kill armor with its gun, it can carry 16 SDB internally, and it will carry all munitions in the current inventory. There are no external fuel tanks for the 35 as it carries 18,500 pounds internally.
