The 1v were retired years ago and are not same plane as the SEM which came out in 1974 so not very old at all. Turkey and Spain both have F-5s.

The A-4 carries twice the weight with more range. The A-7 is the plane they should have bought since they were already using the F-8 as a fighter. The Standard, that’s what etendard means, does have small folding wing tips. Rafale does not it gets by on its small size.

Rafale only carries 10,000 pounds of internal fuel vs 20,000 fo F-35, even with drop tanks it carries less and drop tanks are usually only good for half there weight the rest being used to overcome increased drag.

This... The real reason the Air Force fell out of love with the a-10 was the yom kipper war where Israel got wiped by SAMs and AAA. It marked a turning point. In GW1 the A-10 were getting shot up attacking armor and were pulled in favor of the f-16s.

Just the radio calls below FL600 would be a new experience. The 71 is the only plane that gets better gas mileage the faster it flies. It probably used twice as much gas to go 30% of normal speed.
