I could possibly learn to live with a giant tablet in the middle of the car and no gauge cluster if they did one thing: HUD for speed only. The lack of any way to completely close off the glass roof seems like somewhat of an odd choice, too.

It is unique. It is interesting. However, there is no way I would ever pay $52,000 for this. Maybe if I reached a point were $52,000 was a weekly income, but that probably isn’t happening anytime soon (ever).
Yeah, there’s not a good way to covertly sell a used FSAE car, but all of the tools they seem to have had in there could be sold. Hopefully it can be found before it’s all gone.
Wow, that well and truly sucks. I did FSAE for a couple of years before I switched majors. Some of my greatest college memories came from the time spent at the shop or in competitions. It’s the best training there is for anyone in college who is interested in the automotive or motorsports industries.
I saw wacky and immediately thought of today’s NP or CP. Great minds think alike.
Your name may indicate you are slightly biased, but you’re right. Just don’t tell everyone I’m biased because my wife drives a 2015 CX-5 Grand Touring.
Paint the damn RX-7!
I guess we can’t agree on everything.
My mom always asks for some sort of list. Earlier this decade, she received two lists that were nothing but Mazda part numbers.
So much this. One thing I’m proud of this year is taking a long hard look at all of the crap I’ve accumulated in my life and getting rid of a lot of stuff that I don’t need/wear/use/etc.
For real. That’s not a winter beater. It’s a second car that you better maintain and take care of. I think the headline uses the term cheap loosely and in a relative sense.
“Edit: saw your edit”
Yes, I have edited my comment.
I have edited my comment. Not enough coffee.
Ah, yes. I clearly haven’t had enough morning coffee yet. That and looking ahead to my long weekend.
Did you read the article?
Great article as always, Peter. Everytime I read one of your articles, I instantly want to get out to the garage and do something. The problem is I’m always at work when I read them.
It used to be an absolute playground for budget enthusiast cars. Honestly, it still is, but there’s been a definite trend upward the past year. As long as they maintain a good mix, then I say congrats to them for making a lot of money.
Icy Hot Stuntaz?! Holy crap, I feel like I’ve been transported to 15 years ago.
On the surface it seems like a great deal. Beneath the surface, a plethora of check engine lights is probably waiting for their time to shine.
