There’s been accusations of sandbagging the last two years at Le Mans. Le Mans receives its own special BoP. The rest of the races in the WEC are run under an “automatic BoP”. I believe the FIA uses results to date and formulae to produce BoP for the next race.

Given the incident between the G Drive and the GTE-Am Porsche, it looks like traffic could be a major issue this year.

I saw the title and thought for sure she was going to be the author.

What a fantastic event! We need an easy coast Radwood. I was born in 1982, so these are the cars I remember most from childhood. As others have said, this was a good time for cars in spite of some manufacturer’s build quality. Performance was good and the cars can easily be worked on to this day.

Averages are easily skewed by a few high values. I’d be willing to bet the median transaction price is lower than that.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year!

They are taking the rest of the season off after Nurburgring to prepare for 2018. But yeah, only one car in LMP1-P is a weird situation.

It’s going to be really hard to top last year in the drama department, but I’m with you. Whatever we get, I just want it to be exciting.

Same. It’s happened a lot today.

Meh, not sure how I would feel about that. LMP2 has been better this year, but let’s not forget it’s basically a spec series with no automotive manufacturer involvement. At least DPi has different engines.

Peugeot was also on record lately as saying “they don’t need Le mans” or something to that effect. We could be about to witness the implosion of LMP1-H. If Porsche does withdraw, would be interesting to see what direction the ACO takes.

I seriously considered a 40th Anniversary a couple months ago. It was a bit too far away and looked to need some body work I didn’t really want to have done. If I find the “right” one though, all bets are off.

I always loved Cochise as the first song of Audioslave’s first album. To me, it was a very good intro on that song.

I died a little on the inside with the photo and caption. I have a black 1991 Turbo, so that’s almost exactly what my car *should* look like.

You’re all in for soooo much less money than I am at this point.

Of course it’s an RX-7. Why wouldn’t it be? Full disclosure, I have a never ending RX-7 project that has been ongoing for seven years now.

I saw the hood and immediately thought CP. Almost vomited when I got to the interior. Couldn’t vote CP fast enough at that point.

I missed that one. I traveled about 500 miles for my RX-7 Turbo, nowhere near as far as most of those.

Unfortunately, I had to watch the race delayed. When they showed the smoke and first bit of flames, you knew that it wasn’t going to end well. As they went away for commercial, I told my wife, “when they come back there will be a Nissan on fire.” As if on cue, we came back to a flaming #2.

I wouldn’t expect any less.
