Ah, well, at least he tried.

I think the seller deserves some kudos for going to get a manila envelope from the house instead of holding his finger in front of the camera. CP, though

I did see that. Which is why it would be great to see if he has made a horrible mistake or bought a 308 that was repaired for a reasonable cost and is now enjoying it.

A couple good bargains indeed. It would be interesting to see how the new owner of the sub $30k car fared.

Service costs notwithstanding, I present Exhibit A:

The new DPi Mazdas make me hopeful for the future of sports car racing in North America. Even though team cars are usually the same color, I like what Mazda did here.

Mitsubishi still exists?

I recently took a trip to Nashville. We stayed at an Airbnb in the Nations. This already starts to prove your point. But anyhow, there were three or four new houses going right up across the street. My friend asked me how much I thought they were. I had to go off of what I know of Florida real estate and I think I

Thank you! It was so loosely worded so that John in California who got in a fender bender with his TDI and never had it repaired would still be offered a settlement. Not so Joe in Cincinnati could strip every possible piece off the car (that by the way, was presumably on his car at the date of the settlement) and try

Profit? On the internet? Hmmm.....

I can’t be the only one a tad skeptical about this, right? Don’t get me wrong, there’s plenty of reason to believe this story, but I hear “YouTube star famous for pranks” and I start to question it just a little.

The only thing I want to read about now on this story is how VW tells him to pound sand and put his car back together. Is VW a bad company for cheating the system and now inconveniencing people? Yes. Is this guy a total fool and did something most people would only joke about? Also yes.

Mercedes-Benz of Tampa? I can be there in 30 minutes!

Based on the original article, he bought the car barely over a year ago. In all likelihood, he could still be making payments on this stripped out hulk that VW may refuse to buy back. Congratulations, moron. Have fun putting your car back together.

Damnit. Not only was this Florida, this was my hometown.

This is awful. Just awful.

We need some more crazy around here. It’s good to hear the site is growing.

I agree on grammatical and punctuation errors being unacceptable. My comment was mainly aimed towards critics saying the content was garbage to begin with. I’m not sure of Jalopnik’s editing process, but someone other than the writer should be reviewing each piece at least once before publication.

Oh, I agree with that sentiment 100%. Everyone’s a critic.
