A conversation a friend and I just had about the new Doug car.

This is absolutely brilliant. Well done, sir!
Henry Ford’s birthday is July 30th, which gives us another holiday between Independence Day and Labor Day for those of us in the United States. It’s summertime, so those in northern climes won’t have an issue bringing out the fun car.
I know the feeling. Just look at my picture. 1991 Mazda RX-7 Turbo. More put together than in the picture, but nowhere near drivable or one color.
Some surface rust? Somehow I think that may be an understatement. That would make me a bit uneasy. But it is unique and for a little bit more work, you could have a nice driver until it dissolves into a baby blue heap. NP
There is no possible way you end up regretting this.
Now for the real fun part - waiting to see what you buy. I suggested a Japanese car, but I definitely get that you need to branch out. Plus, I wouldn't want you to buy a dud of an RX-7 and then write about it for a whole year!
I think the burning oil smells good
I think this is a clear case of project overload. It’s not possible to save them all. You may not just be headed for an episode of American Pickers in five years, but an episode of Hoarders in ten.
For those unaware, Mario Andretti takes over the remaining Ferrari after his car dropped out. Unlaps himself, takes the lead, makes a last minute pitstop for fuel and takes the win over Revson/McQueen.
Sebring 1970. I’m not even sure anything else comes close.
Do Porschephiles get as bent out of shape about this as some of my fellow rotary owners do when it happens to an RX-7?
If that Craigslist ad and the subsequent information that came upon your friend’s inspection didn’t scream “RUN. NOW. NO SERIOUSLY- RIGHT NOW!” then I don't know what does.
At first, I thought this was ridiculous. And then I anxiously read the whole thing to find out how much torque was in a purple nurple. The more you know...
It's so tempting, right? If work is close enough you can push the car, you can save on the inevitable maintenance expenses.
No, I think you should totally go for it.
I think you are only a few repairs away from a Ship of Theseus Range Rover.
It was so much of a blast that you now work from home.
I love the “you know you a proud daddy” at the 1:45 mark.
CP, without a doubt. This one brings back a flood of memories since my dad had a Celebrity back then. It was the first car I ever “drove”. I was around seven or eight and he put me in his lap and let me steer home once he pulled in the neighborhood.
