@KaneRobot: Ditto, man. Ditto.
@KaneRobot: Ditto, man. Ditto.
@Kenny: That's Rushdie's ex-wife, Padma Lakshmi. It's good to be Salman (or, at least, it WAS good to be him). Great writer.
This is a terrific write-up, Fahey. I wish Kotaku would do more pieces that try to explore aspects of gaming and its subculture. Kudos.
I hope that Fat Princess is on next year's list.
Living in Southern California, where traffic is congested and the lines long, buying stuff online is just awesome, and [Amazon.com] is my favorite online retailer. Their customer service is excellent and they have terrific deals on all sorts of stuff.
@chungking.espresso: The film that most closely matches your handle — Chunking Express — is awesome on Blu-Ray. Just got it for X-Mas.
@Lethal Lottery: Look, SOCOM: Confrontation has had it's share of problems — a lot of problems, actually — but at it's core, it's a really fun game. Frankly, this update should have been included right out of the box, but better late than never, I suppose.
@Belabras: Great line!
@Steve Ramsey: This sync thing is just a bug and will be fixed. But that not withstanding, what's the difference between Achievements and Trophies? Functionally, they're the same thing.
Holy shit! This is frickin' awesome. Crecente, where can we get this? Is it even possible?!
Strangely mesmerizing. I'll probably buy this since I'm a fan of Katamari.
@Combichristoffersen: "I like!"
@TimDJ84: I don't think you have to worry about the PS3 losing support. Yes, it's certainly going through a hell of a time — and doubly so given the lousy global economy. But it's a pretty great console and it will survive this storm as it did the others.
@terminaljeremy: Boom, baby! I think you hit the nail on the head! (And, uh, no pun intended with the word "boom").
@suya123: I kinda find this irony to be pretty neat, if you ask me. Here's the biggest director (in terms of overall box office), putting his name on a pure gameplaying videogame, as opposed to the obvious cinematic/narrative-based game.
@EnigmaNemesis: I don't think Spielberg said anything controversial in his comment about cutscenes in videogames. In fact, I think to a large extent, he has a point — most videogame cutscenes ARE jarring experiences because they remove the player from his/her point of immersion, and, well, the cutscenes are usually…
@bobtheduck: The NXE is kind of a cross between the XMB and Apple's Cover Flow interface.
@TheDarwinian: I'm a Metal Gear fan, but I found this to be absolutely hilarious!
@DontTouchMyDaughterYouFilthyGa...: Pure comedy, my friend. You should use your comment as a writing sample. You might find work writing for "30 Rock" or "The Colbert Report."
@Deviation59: I'm with you on this one. You gotta call Kotaku out on their flamebait BS.
