Yes it is pompous, but still kind of funny.

With Wiseman on board, this movie is officially going to be awful. Not a surprise, considering that it is a videogame adaptation, but still, I was hoping against all logic that this time, it would be different.

@Saint Anima: "Then I will salute you, and fade into an alley". That's hilarious and badass, dude.

I must say, this is a totally adorable write-up. I wish I was there...

I preferred the older version. It had better lightning and shadows, and, in my opinion, was also more cinematic.

I gotta agree with Sessler here (and by extension, EGM and Gamespot). Konami has really bungled a lot of aspects to MGS 4 that aren't necessarily related directly to the actual game play (at least, I hope not). For instance, the whole Konami ID fiasco, the online Beta delay, the Gun Metal Gray PS3 online fuck-ups,

@dionion: Thanks anyway, man!

@dionion: Do you have a link to that Halo 3 retrospective review by chance? Because the original score for Halo 3 was a 10/10, which I thought was ridiculous.

I can see a lot of MGS fanboys getting all bent out of shape over this (indeed, on the NeoGAF forums, among others, they already are). But I don't think an 8/10 is a big deal. The game will still be a memorable experience.

Kojima's just being charitable... but, there was a time when Lucas made good movies. And I'm not just talking about the original trilogy. American Graffiti and THX-1138 are among some of my favorites.

This reminds me... Activision should release a Civil War-era FPS. The minute long reload times for the rifles will badass.

Holy shit.

I gotta feel bad for CliffyB. His goofball enthusiasm is a good thing.

Terrific news!

@jerimas: What I mean to say was, "Hear, hear". My bad.

@josh924: That list you've given isn't necessarily one of innovation. It's simply an expected expansion of the core gameplay that one would find in a sequel (and, as an aside, the regenerating health thing sounds like an awfully weak thing for a "hardass" like Itagaki to put into his game).

Hmm... the DOA series hasn't changed all that much since DOA 2, and Ninja Gaiden 2 looks like the first one, only with a little better graphics and a ton more blood.

Hilarious!
