It's gotta be W.S. Anderson.
@lionkitten: My response was commensurate in intensity to those who complain about the gameplay-to-cut scene ratio. It wasn't leveled at any one person in particular. If you were offended, then I apologize.
@D Mitsuki: I agree that English makes the most sense. No argument there. But to me, the Japanese voice acting seems to be both cast and directed better. Since English isn't Kojima's language (obviously), he has to extend the directing and casting duties to others, and by that extension, there's too much intent…
I don't get all these early complaints about there not being enough gameplay in the beginning of MGS 4. Big fucking deal. Kojima is trying to set up a sense of atmosphere, and one of the best ways to do that is through the cinematics.
What a badass opening. I love how the game segues from cinematic to game play. I'm also a fan of the Japanese voice acting; I saw some clips with Hayter as Snake, and, well, the voice work and the dialog left a lot to be desired.
Damn. I gotta wince at some of the voice acting in the "theatrical" trailer. Still, the game will be fun as hell.
Looks nice, but I hope the on-the-rails type of stages are limited. The framerate is what impressed me the most... but will Epic be able to maintain this for the actual 360 release version? Doubtful.
A nicely done piece by Game Trailers...
Hmm... the videos look pretty, but I'm still concerned about the potential for shoddy AI and generic level design. I don't mind the art direction, but I wasn't too impressed with the enemy soldiers' reactions. I know this game still has a ways to go, but it's also had a long dev cycle and I would have thought that…
All right. I just watched a brief video of Killzone 2 on [Gamersyde.com] — I thought it looked pretty cool. And this is a video taken from a handheld camera and then encoded into a crappy streaming movie.
I'll save judgement after seeing the game in motion — and of course — after having played it... in early 2009.
