Agreed with you but O’Bannon and Giger, but I never liked what Cameron added to the franchise. Aliens is a well-made, very entertaining movie, but its ideas and themes are mainstream and straightforward in a way the first one isn’t.

Please be a stand alone thing with only the barest hints of connection to the rest. It worked wonders for the Predator. So I want the Alien equivalent of that: new characters dealing with xenomorphs (ot even new monsters) in new situations.

Speaking of which, Prometheus was the name of the ship the Romulans took over in the Voyager episode “Message in a Bottle.”
