Actually if I recall correctly (and I always do), he has always been that way, ever since The Groundlings. He just saw what shit Ghostbusters II was gonna be and protested the film by not really being in it. Sure, his body is there in the movie (and what a body it is…) - but the heart and soul of Venkman is long long…
