Thank you so much for that link…that was awesome…I am subscribed and i didn't see this

Just to be clear, I am only upvoting the first half of your comment.

WE'RE AT 800 AT THIS VERY SECOND. PREPARE YOURSELF.

McCarthy is my definition of "trying too hard."

True - but look at the teaser trailers for Star Wars Ep 7 and the new Ghostbusters trailer and compare them in terms of quality, care, and tonal appreciation for its source material.

I think McCarthy was playing herself through-and-through in this trailer. Which is partially why I am nauseous watching it. The level of improv clearly on display here is amateurish.

All for the Murray, which, both Hudson and I agree that that was the right decision to make.

She also seems to be the only one who might actually get the tone of the original. Dry, non-referential humor. Probably not. But a boy can dream.

Dad?

*pouts* Okay. Fair enough. But people's spines are still pretty much connected throughout the film.

That's when you leap over their couch with some sort of blunt object and announce politely, but firmly, "I'M GONNA DRINK YOUR BLOOD."

I see what you mean - but in the heat of my dumb rant, I neglected to expound on that. The world basically functions, outside of the paranormal aspect of it, like it should. Physics is physics. Then they sprinkled in a bit of goofy shit explained in a goofy way by Stanz and it works.
Venkman is slimed and he feels

Wait until they get a load of you after you've been Zygrot-24'd. That's a verb.

This. The original had a certain anarchy to it, where these scientists treated this like a 9 - 5 job, and where physics fucking mattered. No goofy Exorcist references. No over-the-top screaming and acting. This film is trying way too hard to be funny, at least by what's evidenced in the trailer. For me, they could

It took me 13 seconds to remember this. Awful waffle for me it is then.

This has nothing to do with anything, but thank you for the username/avatar. I love "Freaked" and nobody has any idea what I'm talking about when I bring it up. It's always nice to see it when I come here. So thanks.

I love Nada Surf, but this new album is the first time I've really felt a strong connection with their stuff since "Let Go". It's got a darker personality thanks to the melancholy tones and production.
