@MCWHAMMER: Competition is a good thing, it makes people constantly one up the other guy with new innovations. So yes, like everything else, we need more of it.
Pretty good, something to work at a little bit each day considering I still have to look at the keyboard occasionally even though I've been using computers and typing for over eleven years.
@Mike8813: That actually sounds like a cheaper and easier solution. I'd probably cut out cardboard to fit each window and then wrap it in aluminum foil so that the window covers could be taken down during the evening and on rainy days. It'd probably look a little ghetto, but as long as it kept the heat out, it'd be…
@MCWHAMMER: Torrent articles show up quite a bit on here. And good for Lifehacker for doing so.
@Steven Strell: My computer doubles as my entertainment centre, I don't bother with a TV anymore now that I got a 22' HDTV that works perfectly as a monitor. It's an all in one setup and some times I like to eat or drink something when I watch a show or movie.
Hm, I've got an old wood pellet stove kicking around in the shed that's pretty rusty. I wonder if I could rig something like this up with a massive plastic tub, would be nice to save it from being totally useless.
Decent site, but it's pretty unorganized. One reason I end up installing a lot of extensions in Firefox is because I can browse them by category, ratings, or anything else I feel like. Half the time I don't even know exactly what I want until I browse around.
Until they start offering it in Canada, I'll just download all my shows over bittorrent.
Thanks for letting us know, though the ad is pretty annoying.
Gave it a go in Windows 7, it works fine for me, but I generally have my theme set up so the windows are barely transparent. Things would probably be impossible to read if I set the transparency up more. As it stands though, it matches in really well with everything.
@paintbox: Most of it is, but there definitely are some great shows to match pretty much anyone's tastes.
I watch anything I can watch legally at good quality online through streaming sites(which isn't much when you live in Canada), and the rest I get through Bittorrent. My computer has long since replaced cable for me, and I'm far happier for it.
@surfmadpig: Jump lists are exclusive to Windows 7, so yes.
It'd be nice to see Google buy up Wolfram and implement it similar this way, it'd result in an all around more useful experience.
@cryptowiz: Because you also bought your computer from Apple.
@Randy Bryan: I didn't like the last car I bought, I think the dealership should give me a new one for free.
I love Windows 7, but I'm not sure I'd spend more than $150 for it. In all honesty, I'll probably pirate it until it comes down in price and I can get a legit copy. Not necessarily because I think it isn't worth more than a copy of Vista, but because I really don't have that kind of money to throw around.
@wewillchange: No one here was calling it that, anyone with half a brain already knows that it serves a different function than Google.
Windows 7, did the upgrade from Vista, it works perfectly. I wouldn't even consider downgrading.
