The M5s that are bottoming out are the ones after the 3rd owners with 0 maintenance records, I will never sell mine but I Might have to worry about having to buy a second one in the future will extremely low mileage &in excellent condition,

Why thank you, & with the ownership experience I currently have zero issue with her, daily driven a lot & at 79K miles on her she is still running strong, these in prestine condition are very expensive, there are a few in auto trader & specially one local to me with 26K miles selling for $55K, granted the cheap E60s…
Same goes for the E60 M5, first & only V10 M5, Last all motor M5, & probably the best M motor ever made (MPO)

The oil thirst all depends on how hard you drive in the comparable amount of time, if your constantly redlining it whenever you are behind the wheel, it’s going to drink oil, specially if you don’t properly warm the motor up,
I have 79K miles on my S85 & she is still runnning strong & smooth, I follow the maintenance like the Bible & no issues so far,
Tell that to B is for Build & he will tell you, you are wrong,
All you have to to do is follow the PM to the T, specially the oil changes, don’t track the car if your on the last few miles of the oil cycle, always change oil after track days & never let the oil drop minimum & push the motor hard, 79k on my S85 & still running strong & very smooth,

I had to replace cats for my E46 M3 & BMW had 2 headers with each running Cats, it cost me 3K, as an example,
It’s not hard to work on BMWs, just parts are expensive!
Performance wise maybe, the V10 is also tunable, but the F1 inspired V10 will sound better IMO,
Why am I so poor!!!! Damn those life choices made by the younger me!!
