In keeping with the series’ goal of mixing history with horror, they should adapt Alma Katsu’s “The Hunger.”

I’m in.
In a sane world we would be talking less about an imagined snub (a word that implies the actual nominees were less deserving) and more about who did get nominated.
That really isn’t the Supergirl character though. Unlike Clark she actually grew up on Krypton and was a teenager when it blew up. She lost all of her friends, family and home while Clark has been able to make a home out of Earth.
Pity. The Flash was a hot mess and I can’t blame Gunn for wanting to start with a clean slate, but Sasha Calle was one of the definite high points of that movie and it’s a little sad that this’ll be her only outing.
Ok, then let’s look ONLY at what has come out of Lucasfilm since Disney acquired it and she became president. No upcomings or animated projects, just the already released high-profile live-action stuff.
1. Episode VII - The Force Awakens
2. Rogue One
3. Episode VIII - The Last Jedi
4. Solo
5. The Mandalorian S1
6. Episode…
I’ll give you that Eternals is better than its reputation and a more interesting movie than Marvel usually makes. But Shang Chi is good, and one of the better Phase 4 movies. More than the vast majority of MCU movies it actually cares about the emotional relationships between the characters and plays with them…
Eh, I’ll defend the show. Season 1 had a few passable monster of the week episodes, but by Season 2 it was a solidly good show. The last season wasn’t as strong, but still plenty entertaining.
“Eternals but good”
I’m one of those weirdos who actually thought Eternals was pretty good, or at least decent and pushing the edges of what the Marvel template could do. There were also bits of it that simply LOOKED much better than basically anything else in the Marvel portfolio. I would take a complicated semi-whiff like Eternals any…
Particularly when they go out of their way to give a disclaimer first.
No law says folks can’t really like their own movies.
| But there’s something undeniably a little depressing about the fact that even a guy like Obama, quite possibly the most famous movie nerd on the entire planet, has to do a bit of the old self-promotional hustle in order to get eyes on his stuff.
Jesus. Did Ridley Scott shag your dog and run over your mum or something?
1. Kudos to the cinematographer for keeping it just tight enough on Lashana Lynch’s face that it would be difficult to see the Binary marks at first. Bringing Kelsey Grammer back was just wonderful as well.
I kind of wish they saved the handing over the reigns scene for the inevitable third game. I know they frame it as more of a break than a retirement but I can’t help but feel like they wrote themselves into a weird little corner. I’d also like to play as both (and Cindy) in any DLC and the aforementioned incoming…
Wait, they didn’t even do an inspection?! Isn’t this something similar to Jeffrey Dahmer? The cops were ‘yeah ok but just keep it down”.
Thing is, we never actually see the New Republic during the ST, except for a few fleeting glimpses of Hosnian Prime getting blown up. That was because Abrams (and presumably Iger and Kennedy) were so desperate to get back to something resembling the OT as much as possible, after the prequels had “polarized” the…
I mean the original trilogy’s saber combat was also very much “swinging a club” style. I rather like that we’ve seen a wide variety of lightsaber combat styles with influences from Samurai, Medieval, Fencing, and more. Many times depending on the character’s individual style and personal flares, too.
film remains mesmerizing, a moving and powerful, if somewhat imperfect OR
