Same here. I played as a kid and would never, ever consider letting my kids play. Occasionally they ask and I try to explain how unsafe it is and just feel like an asshole when they’re unhappy about it. I would rather they be mad at me now and live past 35 though.

I didn’t say anybody was Mexican and I am referring to the neighborhoods around it. I drove around the area after I left instead of hopping on the freeway and retreating to the less racially diverse parts of town.

This is almost an exact description of this experience except we kept walking at a quick pace so as to not be surrounded. I kept my head down and didn’t respond. No good could have possibly come from saying something back to them.
