This is why I always always always ask before assuming someone is comfortable with a shortened form of their name. And if they introduce themselves with their full name, I use that version.

As someone who works in comms (though external, not internal), trust me when I say these final versions are not our choice - we may write the statements, but it’s the senior leaders who want this voice and will keep rejecting it until we take it there.
