It was a decent but ultimately boring open-world game with barebones RPG elements and a Harry Potter coat of paint on top. Like a 7 out of 10 maybe. I don’t regret buying even though many of my fellow transpeeps boycotted it(for good reason), but I also don’t regret not finishing it. It just wasn’t that interesting…

I think the 2nd comment just hasn’t been followed by Kotaku yet. At least I know that’s how it was a few years ago, though it could’ve changed. No Nier? Automata is an easy pick and you could make an argument for the first game too though the robots and AIs are less prevalent in that one

Oh yea for sure except you switch the jobs on the fly kinda like they later did in Lightning Returns. The point I was trying to make is X itself isn’t like that at all, so it is a sizable departure from it even if within the series itself it wasn’t all that revolutionary.

I’d consider X-2 a departure too. Going from tactical turn-based combat to more classic ATB combat mixed with magical girl transformation sequences. Not to mention the mission structure being entirely different from the mostly linear hallways of X.

Yeah... Idk if I’m gonna watch this anymore. Season 1 was goood but season 2 made up so much weird new lore and changed stuff from the books that I don’t even know man. Literally 70% of the stuff from season 2 never happened so why even make it at that point. Felt like early-2000s anime filler

We did get the Phantom Blade 0 reveal, actual gameplay of the new Assassin’s Creed and Dragon’s Dogma 2 as well as a bunch of trailers for other games. Like yea nothing groundbreaking but decent.

How was Sony’s showcase underwhelming?

I will be playing BotW first just because I already have it, had 35 hours in it and can’t actually afford the new one right now. I think 3 years ago I got to the desert and kinda gave up but luckily there’s not much to remember really so I’m already back in it!
