"It is a truth universally acknowledged that a sparkly vampire of good fortune must be in want of a clumsy high-school girl to stalk."
Oh, there's a love interest all right. Bilbo/Thorin 4 EVA!
Oh, so you've read it?
Wow, do I hear that a lot on io9!
Don't get me started on what War and Peace *really* is!
Batman is just Twilight with supervillains in Gotham.
And the Odyssey is just Twilight in the Mediterranean with Sirens.
Well, by that metric, the Hobbit is basically Twilight in Middle Earth with Dwarves.
I just passed out from the excitement of having Alex Kingston/River Song play Dinah Drake. I may have even teared up a little. All of my favorite awesome is coming together to create a singularity of awesomeness!
And yet it still had Paterson Joseph as the Marquis de Carabas (best thing in it, I thought) and Laura Fraser as Door so I cannot totally be disappointed with it.
It is a wonderful show. Glad you gave it a whirl.
Jack Reacher had opened and we were at the theater watching previews for Oblivion (Cruise plays another character named Jack) and Jack the Giant Killer.
I really liked it, but I've never wanted to reread it, and it didn't really stay with me the way Graveyard Book and Neverwhere did.
"I was sort of just being something... oh, it's right on the tip of my — DICK! I was sort of just being a dick."
This is probably my favorite Gaiman novel, just above Neverwhere. I think it'd make a lovely film, and I think live action would work well. *Hopeful*
