Ran into one of these with a ford 302 swap at a classical car shop in PA and it was all I could do to not drop a check down.  

Being a former owner of both an 04 ZHP and after that an 04 M3 (both coupe, both 6MT) - every time I see anything e46 pop up in a news feed I get stupid sentimental and absolutely miss both of those cars. I loved just walking up to those cars from any angle, never mind the actual drive.

Absolutely.

I love how this includes somewhat rarely used functions like fade, balance, and scan but still managed to leave a blank button in the middle when they ran out of ideas. Or functions, there wasn’t much else to do I suppose. I vaguely remember a few Eagle offerings from the early 90s with similarly ridiculous wheel…

lol I know - I was making a joke that the target market for this car would likely only ever know about via the internet. Nobody walks into a Hyundai dealership and says “fuck the sonata - I want a manual hot hatch! Where do I sign?” :D

Test drove an e46 M3 with the SMG box back in the day and absolutely hated it at low speeds. 6MT all the way unless you’re tracking it based on that experience. My .02 from admittedly my one and only SMG experience...

And actually if anyone ever comes across one with an aftermarket head unit, and it doesn’t use that Axxess harness, they absolutely had to rip apart a lot of the harnesses back there to make it work,…
