Fascists are always hypocrites.

It doesn’t sound like this is even about breach of contract in the first place. If it was that simple, he’d have sued them immediately. It’s not at all clear what crime is actually being alleged here because there’s nothing illegal about privately lobbying corporations to change their ad policies. It would only be

Yep they complain all day about cancel culture while also joyfully participating in it.

Yep, stare decisis is dead, the SCOTUS will now just do whatever the hell they want no matter what any other court has decided in the past.

This stuff is just red meat for the base. The right absolutely loves boycotts and retaliation against “woke corporations” like Disney or AB, but when one of their own darlings is the target, they scream bloody murder.

It doesn’t do that for you because you are you and not white rich Elon Musk. You realize that the current SCOTUS is completely hypocritical and they will find any rationale, bad science, incorrect facts, to justify the outcome they want. So it’s fine for Elon, not fine for the commoners.

Given that the Supreme Court is now basically just “whatever rich right wing assholes want”, I guess anything is possible.

Let me rush out and buy a car from this piece of shit.

To my ears, the “go F*ck Yourself” statement that Elon made sounds a lot like a legally binding and hard to misinterpret release of any advertising contract that a company might have had with X and its CEO.

Lol this article was posted for us to laugh at the guy, right? Nobody should feel bad for him. Nobody.

Not at all. His stand up was always anemic compared to his contemporaries and that’s the kindest way to describe it. I still think it was a poor choice to bookends episodes with his “what about airplanes” standpoint routines.

I’d argue that being a dick has always been his thing. His humor has relied on sarcasm and a general dismissiveness toward other people’s feelings for a very long time. It just used to be on stage, directed at a straw man breaking the unwritten rules of society, so we tended to agree with him. There was more to it,

I honestly never liked his comedy though. No overcompensation needed.

Wealthy men always think everyone wants to hear their opinion.

None of this is really that surprising for a wealthy 70 year old guy to say, but I do wonder why he thinks anyone wants to hear it from him.

I doubt it was even required. When somebody realizes they’ve made an $80k mistake it’s not uncommon for them to go “above and beyond” in their own mental gymnastics to convince themselves they’re thrilled with the experience. Tesla stans seem to exist in this baseline state of self-delusion most of the time anyway.

Because he’s a cultist.

I wonder if they told him they would cover the repair if he made a positive post.

“I’m very pleased.”

“above and beyond” = Teslastan for doing the bare minimum, and only when insisting in public.
