B20 here! Love this stuff. Velvety. It’s always been difficult for me to find a good shade. I’m fair with yellows undertones.

People abuse independent contractors all the time. My boyfriend was one, and his position was mad sketchy. He had a lawyer examine it, and she concluded it was juuuuuust this side of legal. Like, whether he could successfully bring a case against his employer in court would depend entirely on which judge he got. His

Hey, fellow Lakeviewer!

Okay, but that’s Chicago. From everything I’ve been reading about this since May, New York City has a lot of salons offering EXTREMELY cheap manicures and other services (like, $10 manicures), and these statistics and this investigation are focused on NYC/the NYC metro area.

...so you’re not even talking about the same state, huh?

I have to agree. As a middle-eastern who has hummous as his favorite appetizer, and who regularly eats about a pound of it per week, I would consider myself a hummous purist. Heck, I’ve even made an entire website devoted to hummous for a school project in the past. IMAO, good hummous doesn’t need to be ruined with

Just as a point of clarification, it is not illegal to ask these questions, it’s illegal to make hiring decisions based on the answers to those questions. For that reason, most HR companies will strongly discourage their interviewers from asking them in order to avoid potentially opening themselves up to litigation.

I don’t understand why anybody would use something that I don’t think I’d find useful. Aren’t the range of usage scenarios I can come up with in the time it takes to make a comment all the usage scenarios possible? Isn’t everyone exactly like me? Help! My imagination is being strangled by a solipsistic conception of

Thank you for the clear precise explanation. I love it that on basically any topic on this site there is a very good chance that if you ask a reasonable question you’ll get an expert answer. Thanks for being my expert today, Jen.

Actually, people need to know that as an OH&S requirement on airlines FA’s are generally not supposed to lift your bags into the OH bin. Can you imagine me, a 120lb 5’4 woman lifting upwards of say 115 bags a day into the bin? That’s not a FA’s job. Sorry to be harsh, but that’s just the way it is. When I was a flight

In defense of the flight attendant - if they are flying on average 4 flights a day, with a section of say 60 passengers per flight, that’s a whole lot of bags to be lifting overhead. Most airlines mandate that they shouldn’t do it, to prevent injury. And if they do help, they are usually required to ask another flight

“People need to know this.”

How is it fair to expect Flight Attendant’s to lift people’s unreasonably heavy bags all day? In fact, most airlines prohibit them from doing so.

Flight attendants on most airlines as strictly forbidden in their job contracts from lifting bags. It creates a hazard where they could be injured and have to be removed from the flight and replaced.

Flight attendants are not allowed to lift passenger bags. Too many of them were getting injuries from the hefty bags they were being asked to lift, and there was too many absences due to strains and other injuries.

Another old here. I started watching Today in college when Jane Pauley was the bright young thing alongside Tom Brokaw, and then I witnessed the Deborah Norville/Bryant Gumbel debacle while I was on maternity leave.

Poor little Cotton. I just want you to know that we, your brothers and sisters, are all praying for your safe return.
