I mean, in a terrible sense his fans are some of the worst people to piss off, because he’s spent a career endearing himself to the worst of the GamerGate crowd by saying that he’s both one of them, and that he exists to represent their views to geek culture icons and celebrities.

I think the fact that he’s a very basic/generic white dude allows a lot of his fans to self-insert; he’s living a life that many of them dream of.
