"So many incredible sequences - the traffic jam with the sick/possessed? child, Carl and Shelly, the desert, Viva Las Vegas, the ending. And the Buckhorn gateway sequence was amazing too - unbelievable stuff. The wide shots of the street with Diane and Tammy perched at either end were art, right out of FWWM."
Jim Belushi's character has consistently surprised me by being way more watchable than any Jim Belushi character I think I've seen. He's imposing and scary when he needs to be and goofy and weird when he needs to be.
Rebeka Del Rio, Nadine's successful drape store, Dougie Coop's O-face. This episode was a few minutes shorter than the others have been I think, but it was just PACKED with great little "Twin Peaks" moments.
Skipping the review as I don't want to spoil the flick, but I just wanted to chime in and say I'm super excited for this one. The movie looks like good Wright style fun! Plus, the way they used the music in the trailers makes me excited for how they'll do so in the movie itself.
Having watched it and then pondered for awhile, I think this episode is the most frustrating to get into but the most rewarding to think about in the new series so far.
Thanks, and I found a link to his FB page from another story! It's really weird (not the good kind) to go to the social media for an actor in one of my favorite TV shows and see stuff that wouldn't be too out of place in The-Donald subreddit.
Any idea where I could read more about the "(Arm's) original actor is a shitheel" comment?
Yes! Even the queue or "My list" section seems to pop around randomly from the very top row to further down when I load Netflix. It's so weird.
I don't know. I've never tried to study it, but it seems like Netflix has always been pretty bad at predicting what I'd like and even worse at showing me things I want to see. Netflix's UI has always left something to be desired and it doesn't feel better now than it did before the thumbs up change.
Yeah, he's face palming because he feels guilt because he thinks he caused the accident, not because it's a cheesy little weird take or something. That seemed pretty clear to me when watching.
I kind of wish we hadn't gotten that cast list in the promotional lead up to The Return. I can't help but think "When is this actor or artist I really like going to show up? Oh! There they are!"
It takes me out of just experiencing the show a little bit.
She's so great. Cooper's issues lead to Naomi Watts taking charge and it's just been fantastic to see it. I'd love to see a more lucid Coop, but seeing Naomi Watts just frustratedly drag him around and mom lecture all the evil elements of the Twin Peaks world would be pretty fun to see too.
I really like the show's move to expand Laura's presence. I knew they were going to give her more time than the book, but it feels like she's a main character along with Shadow. It's a really good move.
I moderate a couple small subreddits. In a lot of ways, reddit is just like everywhere else on the internet (and in the real world, I guess). There's a lot of terrible a-holes being terrible a-holes, but there's some interesting stuff from people who treat others with basic human decency too if you look for it.
That's a great vortex of evil floating between the "ears" on the last pic.
"Seasons" is one of my favorites from that album. It's a really good tune.
Haha, "borrowed" is more like. They seemed OK with sharing after Soundgarden got back together.
I saw Chris Cornell with Pearl Jam in Wisconsin in 2011 for a surprise Temple of the Dog reunion. It was one of my favorite concert experiences ever.
Her little embarrassed noises at the end seemed really kind of endearing to me. Obviously, hugging random celebrities who are trying to give interviews is a great way to get into an awkward situation though.
