I am in line with your opinion as well, but think she needs a therapeutic environment if there is any hope for her. Punishing a person for a suicide attempt is inhumane.

The circumstances of her arrest aside, her history is full of untreated mental illness. What kind of monsters are we that allow the punishment of a mentally ill person? She needs to be out of the military complex and in a hospital. This is so awful.
