Protesting the result of an election seems to me to make the mootest of points. Are we really that lost that our guiding reaction is ‘we really hate this thing!’?

I’d have thought we were smarter than that.

I’m looking for practical involvement. It’s thin on the ground.

“So you have no plans for the job and no desire to do it, eh? Fuck yeah you’re hired.”

Isn’t the derision just that the protest is a bit hypocritical? We were all (myself included) up in arms over the possibility that Trump could lose the election and refuse to accept the results. But isn’t that what these protesters are doing? What are we protesting? Democracy? I (like most on this website) hate

Yeah, but if the adult protesters, who voted? I know so many people who abstained from voting as some dumb fucking “protest” (read: white privilege and entitlement) and now they’re out in the streets yelling “not my president”. Well, he is- in part because of people like you.

Perhaps, instead of commenting here, in perhaps the bluest of blue comment sections in this country, an echo chamber if there ever was one- you should drive up to Chelsea (no, not Admiral Hill, but Chelsea) or Lynn, and volunteer at a homeless or battered women’s shelter for poor immigrants. They are the ones who need

“Although I’m sure his replacement would be almost as bad so it’s cold comfort at best.”

I hope you’re correcting their misunderstanding by telling them it’s only illegal aliens that should be worried. Let them know law abiding legal immigrants are fine.

Perhaps, instead of protesting on the Boston Common- perhaps the bluest of the deep blue parks in the country, an echo chamber if there ever was one- your wife should drive up to Chelsea (no, not Admiral Hill, but Chelsea) or Lynn, and volunteer at a homeless or battered women’s shelter for poor immigrants. They are

I am not bleeding from my eyes, I’m bleeding from my wherever.

Something occurred to me yesterday when I realized that I felt the same as I did on September 12, 2001:

Don’t worry Obama will be gone soon.

I wonder how many of these protestors didn’t vote for Hillary because they thought she had it in the bag.

They absolutely do not; refusing to vote is not a statement in any active sense of the term--it is passive acceptance of decisions that others will make for the silent person.

To abstain from voting and then whine about the result is the very epitome of entitled, privileged bullshit. “I don’t like the game, so I’m not

YES. FUCK ALEX PAREENE.

Their response is limited to “Wow, so that guy won.” Not “Why did they elect this person? He’s not the right person for the job.”

Hahaha, no they don’t.

No they don’t. They’re the most culpable.

Not too busy, but just didn’t want to:

Weren’t you too busy to vote yesterday?
