Comedy = cruelty/tragedy + timing. To get a laugh usually means saying something surprising or shocking. So don’t get all holier-than-thou over rape jokes, harassment jokes, Princess Diana jokes, 9/11 jokes or others that shock the audience.

If people are willing to pay to watch him, then obviously they think he’s funny. I don’t remember anyone dying and making you the final judge on what’s funny.
