The guy who did this, I just found out did the soundtrack for a recent RPG that I’ve gotten into, 7th Dragon 3. It’s certainly bumpin.
I’ve never experienced music like in FFXV. The music changes and adapts depending on the mood or place in the game. If you ride a chocobo and just stay still, the music becomes more relaxed but then if you start running, more instruments gets added and it becomes more exciting. Same with entering and leaving diners…
The shock I got from the beautiful opening theme of FFXV to the folksy music when you first hit hammerhead outpost to the faux (bless them they tried) southern accents from Cidny and most npcs...
For all the shit that Watch Dogs 1 gets, the score was completely overlooked. Brian Reitzel’s work stands on its own as a fine album of modern minimalism, kosmiche, IDM, and a little bit more. I’ve listened to it a dozen or so times in the two years since playing; it easily holds up better than the game, or most games…

Virtua Fighter, and Winning Eleven are gross oversights. VF was the best fighting game for PS2, and it wasn’t even close. Winning Eleven (now known as Pro Evolution Soccer in the US) was so much better than FIFA at the time that it wasn’t even a competition.
Here’s a few hot takes:
You could make this list 100 games long and still be leaving good games off.
well, i would put on beyond good and evil and psychonauts, even though i played them on the xbox and GameCube respectively but overall solid list, and good call on godhand, i slept on that one back in the day, but now i can appreciate how good it is, i cant see anything i find objection...
