Sadly, every major console manufacturer has gotten too big for their britches at some point and made a bad mistake. With Microsoft, it was the horrible Xbox One reveal and the subsequent Kinect debacle. With Nintendo, it was overpricing the original 3DS and having to make a hard course correction just months into its

Well, they did bring David Sarif back. Unfortunately, his character model was pretty badly messed up. It actually looks good when you pause a video of him when he has a neutral expression on his face. The problem is that it looks awful in motion. His facial and body movements are very unnatural. I’ll show you a little

I didn’t know that any of this was going on when I started censoring content for my gaming channel. I’m not a fan of foul language and I wanted to keep the PG-13 and R stuff that pops up in modern games off my channel. I guess I’ve been making my videos more advertiser-friendly without even realizing it.

I could be wrong, but I imagine that development on a Neo version is one thing that’s figuring into this delay.

A stable frame rate is a must for immersion. You can have the most beautiful game in the world with an amazing atmosphere and that immersion will still be broken if the frame rate drops from 30 fps to, say, 20 fps when there’s a lot going on. I’m not a person who thinks that 60 fps is a must for all games, but I do

The DS Lite is awesome. It’s basically what the original DS should have been. I guess Nintendo has done that twice now. The DS Lite is what the original DS should have been, and the New 3DS is what the original 3DS should have been (with the exception of the enhanced 3D screen — I can give them a pass on that).

Yeah, I don’t like analog sticks being crammed together in the middle. I prefer either the 360/One layout or the Wii U layout. Give those sticks some nice separation. Having the cross-pad placed so prominently instead is a holdover from the PS1 days when the cross-pad was still the more important control option (used

I agree. Squishy shoulder buttons? No thank you. A plastic nub for a right thumbstick? I’ll pass. I like the grips on the GameCube controller and the button sizes, shapes and arrangements are certainly unique, but that’s about all I can say for it.

For all that handsome detail, the NPCs really do break the spell a bit, what with their wacky lip syncing and goofy animations.

I agree. This is really no different from a texting and driving accident. Whether you’re typing a text or playing a game, the bottom line is that you’re not paying attention to the road.

I’ve seen quite a bit of information about this, and it looks like quite a few features that were touted by the developer ended up not being in the final product. So I can understand many people’s frustrations with it.

Eh, I think the PS4 is generally in the same boat as the Xbox One. Even though it’s more powerful than the Xbox One, it still isn’t as powerful as it should have been — and it shows. Just like on Xbox One, most of the games with 3D environments you’re going to see running at 1080p/60 fps are last-gen remasters (The

I agree with Bloodr0se. There are all kinds of other reasons for you to buy a PS4. If you’re only doing it for No Man’s Sky, I recommend saving your money. No Man’s Sky has apparently turned out to be a disappointment for quite a few people. Check out some reviews on the game’s Steam page: http://store.steampowered.com

Minecraft is my favorite too, and I don’t really like Minecraft. (The crafting part annoys me.)

I’m excited about Final Fantasy XV. I’ve paid in full for my Deluxe Edition (Xbox One version), and that was before I even played the Platinum Demo. The Platinum Demo showed me how amazing this game is going to look; and while looks obviously aren’t everything, it is encouraging that they’ve put so much care into it

As improved as Destiny supposedly is, I’m assuming there’s still no online matchmaking for raids. As much fun as I’m sure it can be to pretend that we’re in the late ‘90s/early ‘00s, I really don’t want to go to an online forum to try to find people to raid with. That’s the one and only thing these days that’s keeping

(Put aside the fact that a two-month delay for optimization and polish is unequivocally good news for anyone who wants Final Fantasy XV to be as great as possible.)

Oops. I meant to say November 29th, not 30th.

But if you’re inclined to buy impulsively during that Black Friday/Cyber Monday period (and a lot of people are), you might blow the money you had saved for Final Fantasy XV on a sweet Black Friday deal.
