And?

Left 4 dead has a stranglehold on people’s nostalgia. Not that back 4 blood is better. It’s amazing that 12 years of game development led to a worse game (no couch co op, no strong mod support, no campaign vs, lifeless characters, worse offline support)

this place ain’t radicalized enough for that, but I’m with you.

“You’ll change your mind.”

are you advocating for PIRACY?! on KOTAKU?! godspeed

I’d have bought it and been relentlessly playing it if it wasn’t made by ubisoft and actually had the cast have concrete ideologies instead of vague “liberty” vs “control” talking points.

“rampancy” as defined by the UNSC. a fascist organization that values control and imperial supremacy and anything that they can’t control is “evil”/rampant” but I’m sure Halo: Infinite will make its universe justify that position and you can feel secure in your thermian arguments without questioning WHY the writers

but they have to make sure that their villain preaches about peace and  equality because that way it maintains the status quo and it conditions the public to associate anyone against the status quo with villainy

i’m sure that since they’ve cast cortana as a villain they absolutely have to do everything in their power to show “no! violent upheaval against injustice is bad, actually!” by doing the values dissonance thing they do with all “villains with a point” like killmonger and the flagsmashers. and they have to keep doing

per halo 5, she was cured of rampancy and has never once mentioned “enslavement” in what she’s said. She just wants to stop the fighting. It’s a very “you are being rescued, please do not resist” situation. in fact, she specifically said “if you don’t challenge me, you won’t be harmed”, and I can trust an AI will

this made me google what happened in Halo 5 and I am now team “cortana did nothing wrong” for the same reasons I’m team “killmonger did nothing wrong”

Yes. By 3-4 months out your AAA game should be almost 100% done and only working on “post production” like bug squashing. It takes literal YEARS to even get to that “3-4 months from release” which is why Call of Duty has MULTIPLE studios working around the clock to secure yearly releases and why Madden only changed

damn, now I want a Halo-themed american football game

I’d agree if the user base matched the sales, but it’s looking like it’s less than 50% (with the over 50% being owned by scalpers)

number of people who have actually tried getting a PS5 or Xbox” that’s a bit subjective, though, since “try” can mean anything from “checking a local target once a month” to “signing up for every alert app and every store in person within 25 miles daily from the moment they open”

I never said nobody bought one. I said a minority of the ones sold are in the hands of people using them. You seem REALLY angry about that, for some reason. You also forgot to include craigslist listings, facebook marketplace listings, letgo listings, and any other numberous “local” listings. In my own local listings

that’s still about 25% of people having the actual console even with that sample size. that’s awful compared to previous generations

“If you really want one sign up for telegram alerts” guaranteed the average person won’t do that and no one SHOULD have to

Both consoles have sold over 10M units at this point” yeah but how many are in the hands of people using them versus just sitting in a scalper’s garage?

I still don’t know a single person with a new console. Sample size: 100 people.
