The authors of that “new Swiss study” you cite (Buergin et al., 2023) disagree with you:

I’ve lived in several places where the only upside-down plugs are the ones controlled by a switch (typically used for lamps) and in those cases it’s pretty helpful to tell at a glance why, for example, your phone charger isn’t working until you flip a switch. I don’t believe that’s any sort of code, but it’s a nice

So does this mean you have to have your house—or at least parts of it—rewired? While that’s the most permanent solution, it’s not in everyone’s budget. At this point, your best bet is to consult a licensed electrician to find out about your options, and go from there.

Before getting into plugs, let’s start with the outlets. Two-prong outlets were introduced in 1962 installed prior to 1962.

While you were partying, I studied the CAWWW!

Cassowary. That’s the bird you want in your regiment.

my path to turning into an IRL wizard is becoming clearer and clearer.

This is the most beautiful and diabolical article I’ve read in a while, and I love it.

Also check with your public library system. Mine used to do passport photos for free on a walk-in basis, but in recent years they’ve added a nominal charge (like $5) to cover materials. It’s still a decent deal to not have to hassle with getting a 2x2 inch photo of yourself.

Video gives same advice as this printed article:

The more premium version of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab A7 Lite (w/ 4GB memory and 64GB storage) that’s frequently on sale for $130 (including right now at Best Buy) would probably be a smarter purchase for most people, it’s definitely going to have a much longer useful life w/ twice the RAM.

Don’t impulse buy Amazon products”

“it’s going to have to work really hard to cool the place down. The compressor, fan, and other components will get a workout. Running it at night when the temperature is much lower means it won’t experience so much wear and tear,”

So, I made this for dinner as a deviled egg, and I gotta say: pretty good!

Might I say, if you like Indian food, you can turn these delicious half fried boiled eggs to a home made egg curry perfect for a comfort dinner to be eaten along side steamed rice or naan
Chop onions, tomatoes, thai chillies, garlic - saute with a sprinkle of salt -> cool -> blend -> saute again with spices, chicken

The main thing I plant this time of year is green beans. Six weeks and I'm picking several pounds of them per week from just a few square feet of garden space. Still plenty of time to start them now and get a lot next month.

Can’t even report/flag the article for misinformation/bad quality

Not sure how the author is still posting shit articles to this day that basically amount to taking a source, not reading it, then making a badly written summary based on it. Made worse by their not responding to any comments by folks

I encourage everyone to read the linked post at REI. This is a poor summary which actually can lead to wrong conclusions. Cotton and similar fabrics that absorb moisture are a poor choice for most outdoor summer or winter activities that involve sweating as they don’t wick moisture, they retain it. On the other hand,

Agreed about cotton. It’s about the worst thing to wear while cycling or running. On the other hand, polyester products like CoolMax and Lycra are great when sweating as they wick away the sweat. I remember wearing wool jerseys when cycling back in the day and they were OK but not as good as modern technical wear like
