Yeah, maintenance on consumables can be expensive, I have a 996 and over the last two years I am in for about $2k in maintenance expenses at my indy.

I had this exact car (color and year) and it was GREAT on the highway and stupid expensive to do any work on. The whole front fascia has to come off to get to any bulbs, the entire audio system is fiber optic so it can’t be modified, the first generation iDrive is not as bad as everyone says though.

A motorcycle and it worked great. I stalled it about twice before i got the hang of it and transitioned to driving a friend from Chicago to Denver in her manual Dodge Stealth with no hiccups.

I did just buy a 996 cabrio... no IMS fix yet though, waiting to do the clutch to do that and living dangerously in-between.

Mine was similar except that on the highway my dad would scold me that I was not going fast enough. I got my first speeding ticket because of it, with my mother in the back telling my dad that “you can’t blame him for this one”... plenty to blame me for later however.
