This is why I bought my XF in 2014. Sportier than the Merc, more distinctive than the Audi and not a 5-series. Handling is great, but the back seat is a little small (keep in mind that my summer kid-car is a 996 - 911).

Had one in that color, wagon. Lost her 15 years ago and would buy back (if no rust) in a minute. Damn things do like to rust though so have to keep an eye out.
My mother had a 5000 and it was a great car. Drove all over the country looking at colleges in that thing and she sold it out from under me before I could get my hands on it. Probably for the better, the Volvo 240 wagon came in Orange!
My kids call these ‘Momseratis’ as they typically are driven by middle school moms around these parts. Prices have been dropping like crazy though, and leases can be had under $700/mo (no I have not researched the rest of it, just advertised Ghibli 4s leases).
I went from BMW to Audi to Jaguar and have been thinking about the Ghibli next, how is the back seat space?
I have a 996 cabrio and my 12 and 9 year old work as well. The 12 year old is nearly done with me however... he will displace his mother in the front within a year.
Thought exactly the same thing. Want the dash MORE than the seat.
Totally read this in his voice.
I had a 2002 745Li and the first gen iDrive was just as bad as everyone said. The car ate up roadtrips like nothing else I’ve ever owned and I could change my kids diapers in the trunk though. Overall the hat is strong for this one but it really was a very well sorted car.
My Jaguar suffers the same maladies. It's still under warranty but I never even considered bringing it in for issues. My favorite was a 'oil level sensor failure' message I got that even the dealer could not find in their documentation...that went away after two hours of sitting in my office parking lot. Brought it in…
This all the way.
Kind of agree here. I have a 2013 XF and the aluminum dash is very distinctive, the touchscreen not so great however. I will have to reserve judgement on the tradeoffs I guess as the physical controls in the center stack look better too.
Amen on them being crap, I had one with many fewer miles and went through three door handles, an alternator and two transmissions (autos sadly, replaced them with rebuilds). Unreliable is an understatement.
My wife saw it and immediately wanted one, it's now on the list for 2016... she did test drive the Murano XCabrio though and only barely avoided that one. Maybe I can convince her to lease it?
Anyone know what the Jaguar crossover will be based on? Seems like this or the Evoque would be the best candidates with the Jag being a little more sport focused. The wife is up for a new ride in the next 4 years and wants an SUV, this off-lease may be a winner!
We limit to three gifts from Santa and one from mom and dad. Even as they get older we keep up the tradition, and Santa always brings at least one book.
Looks like the designer yelled that it needs more airflow and they just added some dash vents all over to make it work. Sorry but no.
Sometimes real spies, like James Bond, have to be undercover as classy, wealthy people and what better car for that than a supercharged Jaguar XF? It tells everyone you've arrived, without shouting it.
Does the base Carrera Cabrio count too? I may find myself a poseur, thought I avoided that and only had the 'mid-life crisis' stigma.
This,
