What about August last year? Yes, Harvey impacted sales. But were there not stories about the zillions of flood-totaled cars? Wouldn’t, over the next few months, sales have jumped?

My ‘94 S-10 Tahoe had thousands worth of work done free also.
I do buy it on new cars. But, I had a friend get a new car totaled by someone, and after the payoffs, he was still on the hook to the bank for thousands, which hurt him getting a replacement.
Truth. That’s when I started losing interest. When the cars are measured by lasers to prove they are totally identical? Engines all made to the exact same specs? Telling them what spoiler they can use, and how high, and everyone gets the same tires and gas? By “leveling the field”, they eliminated almost all the…
I’ve about gotten to where I watch the first 30 laps, then mow the yard, then catch the last 30 laps.
And the fact that they call a caution if a driver gets a hangnail.
I think it’s simply too much money to keep a team going. Endorsements aren’t as popular (or pay as well) as other sports stars. Furniture Row wasn’t like having Apple or Chevrolet as a sponsor, so smaller money there. But with the price of tickets rising to foolish levels, and NASCAR whoring off every single tiny…
She obviously read the book “The Black March”, which was a story of an SS officer trainee who fell in love with a Jewish girl.
Since we only have the trailer, I think at this point it might be going a bit far to call the boy nazi. His Father, yes. But that bit looks like he’s just going through the motions as a form of camouflage. There were fewer hard-core nazis than portrayed. Most were common people just trying to live their lives under…
Okay. So, somebody at the house bought them. I like them. My complaint is they’re too expensive, since I can eat a box at a time. As a kid, I always ate around the crust first, saving that succulent squishy center for last. Now, I can skip straight to that heavenly center without chewing that nasty crust. What’s…
That’s part of the reason I’m babying my HHR. It’s like owning a truck.
“A frugal, fuel-efficient truck for the hardworking American”
Wasn’t it also under legal license?
Interesting...
Two things. The vast majority of semi-automatic weapons work on the exact same general parts. It’s not really as easy as ‘add a bit there’. What can be added can be removed.
They’re NOT bad cars. Some are pretty nice. But you can’t fight the trends in autos forever. If it costs $2 million to run a plant, and you sell $1.5 million in cars, something will eventually break.
Point me to a $15,000 Silverado and I’ll be at the dealer in an hour.
But apparently they’re going to keep making Explorers like crazy, which makes way more cash, so somebody thinks they’ll be okay. And those $45,000 pickup trucks.
“As humans, we understand instinctively that it’s not OK to murder young men out for a walk to buy a soda and a package of Skittles.”
That’s a good read, but if you go back, and I mean waaaayyyy back, adults were the very first gamers. PCs cost 10-12 grand, and I played first on a Perkin Elmer 8/32. Then a PDP 11/40. Kids were hanging out in video arcades those years, and there were plenty of girls those days.
