“Moving to California for the first time” seems a catch-all, too. I lived there in ‘75-’77, and again in ‘82.

I swear, I will only fly Lufthansa if I ever get on a plane again. That was the absolute best flight I have ever had, even at 12 hours. Followed by having a cigar and beer at the McDonalds in Frankfort Airport.
Yep. Every time I’ve been up North, for work, or Military duty, or whatever, it’s been some kind of record-breaking something every time. I actually think I’ve been cursed against living up North.
I’ve thought about the Bolt. But I need a viable replacement for my HHR. When I go to Ikea, I love being able to slide that Kallax box straight in and shut the door. I still have no idea what to get.
So? I’ve really done exactly that several times. (tank commander, not fake news). Call it a ‘dramatization’.
If I could only get my arch-enemy to move there...
Truly. I like to buy new, but my current DD is over 9 years old. I haven’t had a payment in 5 years, and I love that part.
Norway is a great place. But remember, you can’t possibly compare most of Europe even remotely to the U.S. Maybe a particular state or two. Europe still has a lot of cultural things that haven’t changed for a thousand years. I noted in Germany and Norway, the only two Countries I got to look around some in, that many…
I thought maybe I’d get that and put it in my HHR.
Okay, I’ll let this one slide. I vehemently once claimed that heated seats were so very wimpy. But my Wife’s new Buick had all that stuff, and last winter changed my mind a bit.
I did once have the Tercel 4wd wagon with the tilt and bank gauges on the dash. Useless, but really cool.
Whether analog or digital, we need gauges. I miss my truck with the full set. I like to know if my battery isn’t charging fully. I want to know when my oil pressure drops a bit.
While a nice thought, it really doesn’t matter which party is in charge. Obama ran everything into the ground, who tried to fix things after Bush, who tried to fix things after Clinton, who tried to fix things under Reagan... I bet it goes all the way back to George Washington saying; “Maybe we should fix this tax…
Ah, but this is exactly the stuff we think of when we hear the word ‘English’. As Americans, we don’t have all that rich history to look at. We missed the whole castle-siege, black plague, Crusades thing entirely. Add in the fact that many of our ancestors were kicked out of England by force, and you can see why we…
Far less excitement using standoff weapons.
Wasn’t that more or less an accident? It was damaged, he spun out of control, and just happened to hit the bridge and knock out the controls.
Good point. And this would have impact way back. If X-Wings have hyperdrive, as well as practically every other fighter in the Rebel inventory, and the fighters know that the vast majority of them are going to get dead anyway, why haven’t a couple of crippled X-Wings or B-Wings done this already? One fighter sacrifice…
The station on my way home has one way in and out.
I actually specifically try to make sure any car I buy has the cap on the right. Around here, it seems everyone has it on the left. So when I go to my favorite stop, I pass the line of cars on the right side of the pumps and pull in at my usual.
Truth, but not everybody reads Jalopnik. I never thought about it before the article here.
