Have you seen the ‘leaked’ pics? It’s already a disappointment. But, I’ll wait to see what the release looks like.

The real issue is that it can take going up to 90 mph for a spoiler to have any real effect on actually pressing the wheels down. Now, a ‘90s Civic (without the VTEC-Yo) and 6 colors of primer on it, stanced to where the wheels are at a 30-degree tilt, is not going to benefit in the slightest from a spoiler that was

Actually, I could gladly wait many decades to get ‘that age’.

True, but I was going with the sub-prime concept they were using here. Nobody wants to get repoed, but there are always bizarre things happening, like the dotcom crash in Atlanta.

Actually, it can. Look at it this way, if someone buys a $25,000 car, but their trade-in is $3000 underwater, they’re financing $28,000 on a $25,000 car. That’s lost value off the get-go. If it’s repossessed, they have to sell it for as much money as they can to recover, but devaluation is going to take a hit.*

Excellent statement. We make do in hard times, and splurge when things are good. I’ve had to learn a lot of wrenching when I was younger, even driving a ‘78 Cutlass 100,000 miles in 5 years. When I could get a new car, I did. But for lots of folks, it’s just not that good right now. Eventually, everybody needs

True, but that’s an eternity in the modern age. People just don’t remember the things that happened, even while they still complain about it. It’s like in 1776, when we kicked the Germans out of Dunkirk, nobody remembers.

When my Mother died, she had $53,000 on cards. I have an Aunt (not a spring chicken, either) with about $90,000.

True. A friend of mine would get the longest loan he could to keep the payments down, but always got new-car-fever every two years. And he would literally tear a car up in that time. He just kept digging the hole deeper around himself. It finally collapsed on him.

Which is funny, because a friend of mine’s husband picked up a pristine one a few years ago for $7000. Of course, when gas hit $4 a gallon, you almost couldn’t give them away.

We called it; “The short bus”.

Rockingham was dropped for the same reason some others were... they couldn’t seat enough people to make money.

Here’s a biggie for me... does it do RF as well as IR? I have an older Dish box. It works great, but uses the old signal. My phone app nor any other combo remote (I’ve used a couple of cheaper ones) will control it... only the Dish remote.

This. It is our data. There should be something like the ‘freedom of information act’ for us on this. You can screw with me, but I’m not allowed (without cost) to know what you’re doing?

True, but I mean the time between somebody develops an “oh wow!” thing, and the time before it becomes affordable. And so many of these aren’t feasible, nor can they be made cheaply enough for the common folk. On top of that, they become outmoded before they’re even on the market.

2nd: I got a chuckle out of the phrase; “doesn’t even factor in technologies that are still yet to come”

Got to ride in one of these in Germany. The going joke is that the Ka is so small...

I think the $400,000 is right. There was an article that some were going for as much as $600-$700,000, or even more. There’s a fixed number of medallions, and they can change hands between companies.

Never thought about the etymology. Never had much to do with bugs.

Yeah, I don’t get that either. I know it’s a cliche comparison, but the guy who signed off on the GM ignition switch is the guy who should be in prison, not Schmidt. People died there.
