While a good statement, the only ‘perceived’ benefit I got out of my last VW was unholy costs. You’d think I had a Mercedes with parts and maintenance costs on those things. A far cry from my old Rabbit, and especially my ‘71 Super beetle.

5th: GM is going to rely on some of their ugliest models? Seriously, I haven’t liked any GM crossovers since the HHR*. My Wife didn’t like the Equinox, and the others are just too big for the usable space.
I love these bikes, but the feet-up-and-back thing just doesn’t hack it with my 36 inch inseam. I used to get leg cramps on my GS500e.
But are they technically spotters? Like, official? Or just a bunch of others waiting their turn and playing with cameras.
So they’re restrictive about immigration? Wow! We could learn something from them.
Technically, though, I would be happy if they just made ‘cars’. You know, vehicles designed for transport without $4,000 worth of internet facilities in them?
??? I don’t know a lot of Americans trying to sneak into Mexico and game their system.
This is true. Who makes alternators anymore? Stereos? Power steering pumps?
We don’t have ‘fair’ free trade now. China manipulates it’s own currency in order to have the advantage. We get deeper in debt, and eventually the bottom is going to fall out anyway, regardless of which party is in power.
Good read. I wonder, though, that they’re shooting to high for an ‘intro’ to the Country. Wouldn’t they stand a better chance at making a “peoples’ car” and competing with VW first?
4th... They aren’t selling cars, and their answer is to open up hundreds... HUNDREDS more dealers? Wouldn’t making cars people want be a better plan to put effort into?
Had one. An ‘83.
You know, for guys who are ALWAYS telling us how to not get ripped off, how to check a car over, or else find a good mechanic friend, you pull some real boners sometimes.
Well said. These guys pick their own hours. Some drive as little as 5 hours a week. They don’t deserve full employee benefits.
This is one of those things I wish you would never dangle in front of us. I wanted to bring one back from Japan soooooo bad.
Yep. It was a ‘92 with 50,000 miles. When she died, I put a few new brake parts on it, and my Son and his Wife still drive it. The radio does have a problem, though.
People also forget that China tried to take over Viet Nam after we left. They sent divisions screaming over the border and had their butts handed to them. Lots of men does not make them effective as a fighting force... except as human wave assaults that make us run out of ammo.
I saw lots of stuff on Japan like that.
My Mom’s Buick LeSabre was just fine after 20 years.
A lot less than the car, apparently.
