probably already in the comments somewhere, but I don't see the small changes being any sort of "major departure" from the books...taking them one at a time (**book spoilers ahead, but none that give anything away for book five, or anything in book four that the show hasn't already covered**):

That's why I thought the post would be kinda funny. Cartman is just a sociopath, but in this one case, the detail and thought process he went through to pull it off was scary...which Kyle and Stan's reaction to the reveal properly conveyed.

Yeah, but he was also the first one to bag Osama bin Lade... We can't stay mad at him.

shit...guess that very much makes me the asshole...only thought you were being serious because I'm pretty sure you're right about the Scott Tenorman thing, where in that one instance Cartmen TECHNICALLY did have clean hands (like the Joker saying he didn't kill Rachel)

You forgot the planned genocide of red-headed people.

Apparently you took my post seriously, and for that I'm sorry. The way this post was phrased just made me think of the way he played out that whole scenario when he gave away how he did it at the end. And yes, I've seen just about every South Park episode.

Really only #10, and early 11. 9 at the very end of his run.

Daamn. And the guy married her. And she is the daughter of the actor that played the 5th Doctor.

Myst is vintage?

The amount of recombined DNA in both those clips is staggering.

Aang, baby!! I can't believe it took me this long to remember, but while he did use violence when he felt he ABSOLUTELY HAD TO, the fact that he defeated the BADDEST MAN ON THE PLANET in a non-violent manner was pretty freaking badass...and definitely a great example of brains over violence

You mean the character who beats the shit out of people whenever put in a position of authorit-I? Hall monitor - he maced people. As a cop he beat the hell out of people with his night stick. In "die, hippie, die" he not only kidnapped hippies to be stashed away in his attic, but he built and drove a giant drill

Forget about scifi/fantasy. I'm going with a real life example - Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

As much as I like this choice, I think any character who wins by using technobabble isn't really clever. Jeff Goldblum's character isn't clever, he just has the ability to hack into an alien computer using a 90's era Mac. That isn't clever; it's just an ability granted by the writer, much the same as Will Smith's

Yes, but this is his moment of heroism. I could've cropped Smith out, but I needed the computer.

Tyrion Lannister

turning off machines is very different than using physical violence to harm another person...

Now playing

I mean the prompt was finished once you posted the cover image...but for good measure, and to help drive home just WHY the doctor is the best example of this, here's #10:

Great, now I have a new obsession to keep me from being productive...
