Well, there’s this:
I’m really surprised, I hadn’t followed any online discourse about the show and am really liking it. The only character I find annoying is Kit, but it’s not to the level of, “I can’t f*cking stand her,” which is what I keep saying about most of the characters in the GOT spinoff. From the info you’ve provided, looks…
the doctor is apparently an immortal forced-amnesiac from another dimension
They did it at the dress rehearsal but not for the live show.
I probably would’ve thought Genisys was 100 times more awesome if I’d learned John Connor had been turned into a Terminator while watching the movie. If that’d been an actual plot twist instead of something everybody knew from the first or second trailer, my mind would’ve been blown.
I agree we didn’t need more John Connor, but offing him immediately was not a great way to start the film. It’s too much of a ‘fuck you’ to fans of the series. “Did you like T2? Didja like how John Connor managed to overcome almost insurmountable odds and avoid getting killed by a Terminator? Yeah, turns out he got…
The other problem was that now there’s a knee-jerk negative reaction by lots of R-rated action fans to anything they consider pandering to a liberal viewpoint. I think this group got turned off by 3 female leads, one of which is Hispanic, and a story based in part on border immigration. I kept running into, “Why’d…
You’re right, the bullying plotline at the beginning of the season was just absurdly over the top. I stuck it out because my wife was going to watch it no matter what, and I’m glad I did. The rest of the season was fantastic. If I ever re-watch it, I’ll just fast-forward through anything that happens in a school where…
It felt like a ray of hope to me because Wonder Woman actually behaved like the DC character, unlike an awful lot of characters in the Snyderverse. And although the final act was meh, the rest was pretty good.
That “She’ll Be Coming Around the Mountain” rendition was completely amazing. Season 3 was the best season so far, IMO.
I did wonder if I’d just been extremely unlucky and should give them a second try... but felt I’d just be setting myself up for disappointment. Maybe I should try ‘em again.
Late to this discussion, but I don’t know how a list of 2022 fast food failures doesn’t include Arby’s abomination of a Waygu Steakhouse Burger. It was 70 percent gristle.
I was surprised the review didn’t start out by discussing how freaking amazing that opening was! But it makes sense that the reviewer wouldn’t recognize it. Can’t believe that show’s 40 years old.
I thought the cold open was pretty funny. Actually, I liked the whole episode a lot more than the reviewer. It was nice to see Teller be up for anything and self-deprecating during his monologue too.
Indeed. Good to know there were at least 2 other people who saw it!
And in the absence of genuine leadership, they’ll listen to anyone who steps up to the microphone.
But then . . . a man who commands not only the Force, but armies of Stormtroopers and friggin’ starships, is stymied by a small fire.
I absolutely love “Stay on These Roads.” Another one of theirs that doesn’t get enough attention is “Sycamore Leaves,” which is more disturbing and dark than most of their output.
Even the Enterprise theme grew on me.
