This is a fascinating take. I’ve always interpreted the events in the first 6 films as showing that the Jedi fell because of their rigidity and refusal to acknowledge there are benefits to having emotional attachments.

They tried realistic expressions last time and it was the thing everybody hated.

The Stanley cup one was NOT a highlight. That one wasn’t funny, and went on far too long, during which it also was not funny.

My favorite childhood Christmas was 1979. As soon as the Millennium Falcon was announced, I wanted it badly. But it was a longshot; it’d be the most expensive present I’d have ever received, and my parents were in no way made of money. Still, I told every mall Santa I ran across to please, please give me one on

This is what I go for too. IMO Burger King has the best-tasting eggs, so put them in a croissant and... I’ll have two, please!

I’m so, so glad Liberty is on this list. I didn’t expect it to be, but it deserves it mightily. It was the first album that came to mind when I saw the topic. Never before had I sat through an entire Duran Duran record without liking any part of it. It deserves to be referenced in the dictionary under the definition

When the intro to the article mentioned Bowie, I was absolutely certain the album discussed was going to be Never Let Me Down. Bowie himself called it “awful,” and said “I really shouldn’t have even bothered going into the studio to record it.” And he’s 100% right about that.

I agree—I saw it when it came out and thought it was ok; I recently re-watched it and thought it was fantastic. The visuals are incredible. Oldman, Rider and Hopkins give great performances (Hopkins veers close to overacting, but it works within the lurid confines of the film).

Better Off Dead is one of my favorite comedies, but does it fit into the ‘High School Movie’ genre? There aren’t many (memorable) scenes set in the high school. Although I guess the same could be said about Superbad and other movies on the list.

I agree; the fridge scene struck me as something that was in the spirit of the previous films, but the vine swinging was... not.

Ah, I see that now. Reading comprehension FTL.

Well, in Super Troopers one of the deputies has a foursome with his wife and two witnesses he brings home, and asks the group, “Who wants a mustache ride??” and the female and male witness respond, “I do!”

You make a good point, but isn’t devoting the entire final season to basically the 3 days before their wedding and their wedding day proof that the showrunners were also building Robin and Barney up to some extent?

I like the insanity of The Tommy Westphal Theory: If St. Elsewhere was entirely a made-up hospital in the mind of young Tommy Westphal, then any character who appeared on the show who’s from a different TV show must also be part of his invention, and consequently the other show itself.

Totally agree, I was really surprised when Master and Servant didn’t make the list

Andor was really, really good, had an amazingly small number of references to characters or things from the OT, and... from what I’ve seen on ratings sites, had the worst ratings of any of the Disney+ Star Wars shows. This only exacerbates the problem, since it tells Disney that The People Out There want the OT

You know, 3 days after you made this post, I couldn’t help but notice that Tucker Carlson hasn’t responded to the repeated allegations that he likes to stick his dick in empty banana peels and cry while masturbating in his pantry to pictures of Donald Trump wearing too short tennis shorts and he uses his tears as lube

This was my experience also—really fun movie with unexpectedly imaginative visuals. I didn’t have a problem with the degree to which it switched between humor and drama. I liked it better than either the latest Thor or Dr. Strange, and I love Dr. Strange

Good point, I didn’t see a lot of kid interest in Supes either following MoS, but admittedly that’s anecdotal.

Nobody is having a good time. Superman is practically Christ
