XJs were great. I had a TJ before the JK and it was great. The JK is great. No lift generally required for the offroading I have occasion to do (living on the east coast and being gainfully employed and all). Furthest off road many of those lifted JKs will go is the parking lot at the local outdoor concert venue.

People who want to off road are not the market for the new Cherokee. People who want to off road (but also be able to transport children) will buy a JKU. Those who just want to off road will buy a JK.

Like everything else, small penises.

My vote:

Neither my 97 TJ nor my 13 JK would have gotten stuck. Both unmodified. Mainly bc I know better than to belly myself out on a snow bank.
