Fwiw, I should have presented this information in the reverse (kWh) rather than my lazy hours per kW, as it's a recognized standard, however the conclusion is identical.

It’s powered by a 17.4 kWh lithium-ion battery, which Electra Meccanica says is supposed to be good for a 100-mile range and recharge on 110 volts in six hours, half that time if you’ve got a 220 volt plug.

Is there any car that screams, “Buy here, pay here” more than an E63 6-series?

The problem isn’t with the vehicles, it’s with the people. In the mid 2000s people were buying homes they couldn’t afford with interest-only loans and variable APRs. The housing market was going up “FOREVER!” and they were taking out equity lines to buy H2s that they proceeded to put big chrome wheels on. They used

“Things people say before the next financial collapse”

Hardly anyone has a lawn here anymore. It’s all low-water stuff, rocks, etc.

Not all HOAs are bad. I live in a neighborhood with 3,000 homes, spread out over a fairly large distance, and it’s all one big HOA. The fees are low (~$110/mo), they don’t care about cars on the street or driveway unless they literally NEVER move. But they do at least care “a little bit” about things, so you can’t

Let’s see...you can buy a 2015 Smart Electric for the same price, it goes 90MPH, is actually built well, and is rear-wheel-drive, so you could potentially have some silly fun in it.

I love the public scooter idea...in theory. The problem is people are awful and they ruin the concept for everyone. I’ve used the scooters a few times in San Diego and Lake Tahoe. I had a blast on them and it made getting from A to B a fun, fast activity rather than a long, hot walk, or driving/ubering.

You ever see these in person? I still think they look pretty insane. It was DOA then and it’s DOA now, but it looks cool.

Good call on the valve guide issue. A friend of mine had his pop while on track and it was nightmarishly expensive to fix.

No matter how much of a failure this car was (and likely still will be), it’s such a beautiful looking car with such amazing proportions, I can almost forgive it.

Fwiw, my manual, b58-powered 340i has averaged 24mpg over the course of 40,000 miles...so I'd say the supra with the auto and lighter body at 26 sounds about right. I consider these figures incredibly impressive for how much power they make.

I’m sure there’s undoubtedly a niche for this product, as there’s plenty of grown adults that appear to want to train their kids for an incredibly expensive and dangerous sport like motocross, but I just don’t see this really moving into mainstream. The charms of balance bikes (my kids both had them) are a) they are

Wow, I just came from that terrible article with the wind-blown-out video, and now I’m super stoked to be on Jalopnik again.

wow, congrats on making the worst and most annoying video of the decade

Next they will say it’s gonna have a turbo. Errrbody’s panties gonna get all wet. Then they will say it’s a 1.5l and makes JUUUUST as much HP as the current car but more torques. Those panties will start drying but not all the way. Then “BAM SURPRISE” right at introduction we learn it will only come with a CVT.

My first car came with 13s. I dreamed of one day putting something HUGE like 15" wheels on

Not all 15" wheels fit this gen, but many do. I’d imagine the 16x6.5 would fit just fine. AFAIK the center bore and bolt pattern have been the same on Foresters since the beginning...and the offset is usually 48.

Funny, I just took the stock 17x7 off my 2014 Forester today and replaced em with 15x7. Meatier tire feels great! I also shaved 4lbs per corner.
