I’m in California. You’d think that would mean perfect for an EV. However, we don’t qualify for any of the rebates because of income, so that removes some benefit. We have solar panels but San Diego Gas & Electric keeps increasing rates (highest in the nation) and “delivery fees”, so adding more to our electricity usag

Hopefully it was cheap. There are plenty of these bikes out there that don't need literally everything refreshed.

In major metro areas of California, $150k won’t go very far.

We’re seeing rates over 80 cents/kWh for some folks in San Diego now. It’s INSANE. I’m just glad I have solar and it covers most of my usage. But California recently changed the solar rules for new customers and it’s making solar less viable as an option.

Not everyone qualifies for the tax credit though. With electricity costs in my area (San Diego), income cutoffs for tax credit, and resale value, the hybrid corollas make more financial sense.

I’ve got this power train combo in my 2022 x3 m40i. It's phenomenal. So smooth, tons of power, great sound, and even in the porky x3 we average 26mpg in mixed driving.

Ironically, you are the one that claimed “factually”. I merely used the stated numbers listed by the actual manufacturers. And it’s apparent you are using a different reference bike for your stated price. It’s also quite possible that your definition of “highway speeds” differs from mine. Where I live that means 80mph.

Same. I’d pay the money if the range was there, but it isn’t. And if I rode a bike only in the city to commute I’d get something cheap and small.

Unfortunate to see another flop in the electric bike market. There really is a lot of potential, but makers keep missing the mark. I think the s2 del mar looks pretty nice but the range just won’t cut it for me. For reference, I own 2 electric psuedo-dirt bikes (sur-rons), 3 electric pedal bikes of various type, and a

The fact that these hummers can do 0-60 in 3 seconds and you won’t even hear all 9000lbs about to slam into you, oh lowly pedestrian crossing the road, is more alarming.

The issue here is it seems people ARE buying cars despite these sleezy tactics. Otherwise dealers wouldn't continue doing this.

I just tried the instant-offer on my 2019 Miata GT -S. 11k miles. $25k. I don’t actually want to sell it but guess things aren’t as sky-high for all cars with them.

This isn’t shocking. As an owner of an outback wilderness, I’ve gotten to see first hand how medicore the mileage of this motor can be. I’ve never gotten below EPA numbers on a car until this one. I still like the car, and the cvt is mostly tolerable. But it’s hilarious that I average 10% better in my x3 40i with a

I bought 3 new cars in 2021 and I paid MSRP or less for all of them. They were all marked up but I found dealers willing to sell without them, though one car required ordering to accomplish this task. Whatever. People paying these crazy markups are stupid and they ruin the car market for everyone else.

I mean sure, this thought experiment would have made sense like a decade ago, but now you should be blabbering about how all these damn EVs should have he same motor and batteries

It should be noted that some of the vehicles included in that sheet have only one test data point. That isn’t enough data to really be considered reliable. I caught this when looking at the BMW i4 and iX as I couldn’t quite understand why there was such a massive difference in efficiency between the 40 and 50 models

I owned one. First year CX5 with a manual. Unfortunately that also meant the 2.0 motor and well...it wasn’t exactly speedy. Still, it was a joy to row the gears.

Are you smoking crack? No it isn’t. My parents are on the more tech savvy side of the spectrum and they had all sorts of confusion with it. Even now, after like 6 months, they hate the capacitive buttons.

...or you can buy a miata. As a multi-BMW and multi-Mazda owner, I can attest the ND2 is a more fun vehicle over any 2-series.

True, I sometimes forget the Integra was considered somewhat luxurious...and I was a proud owner of a ‘98 GSR myself. By today’s standards it’s pretty silly, but leather seats, power windows and mirrors, sunroof...CD player. It was fancy stuff then.
