Wow that’s nuts!

Except that with new cars, you have to do a lot of stuff through the entertainment system. Music, nav, phone, tire pressure, oil level, service monitor, the list goes on. So when the system they use totally sucks, it makes doing daily functions an annoyance. BMW and Audi do it well, BMW’s being a bit simpler but

I’m with you. The 3.5 eco is cheaper and nearly as torquey, but with far more HP.

That motor in a 3200 lb car would be perfect.

Sounds like you need the inclement weather M3...aka, an RS4/5. ;)

As much as I loved revving mine out and hearing the S65 sing, the low-torque, heavy car sucks some of the fun out in daily driving. I got rid of it with 80k miles, with that constant wonder if rod bearings were gonna go kaput. And now I have the ultimate balance...a 340i 6 speed (for easy daily driving) and an e46

As someone who suffers from California 91 octane piss fuel, I’m all for this move. My two factory turbocharged vehicles thank me so so much on the rare occasion that I mix some 100 octane into the tank. They pull harder. They sip slower. They don’t ping under certain conditions.

other take: who cares. The cop pulling this dude over just caused worse congestion.

Test drove one of these today with the six-speed. Pretty bummed by how slow it was. It felt so slow, I felt somewhat unsafe driving the thing. I loved the seats, the handling was decent, the shifter was great; but it was just too slow to even consider, and this was a car for the wife even. Felt like the gearing was

I still wonder how or why so many people with poor credit (and likely not the best income) are buying $50k cars. It seems irresponsible.

GIMME GIMME GIMME

Yeah, wheel. I wish there was more data for sub 3k but the dynos are all kinda of varied. I just googled a bit for these, found some reputable dynos and made sure they were close to average....then scaled them on top of eachother and did a shitty hand trace. Oh and that non-highlighted top number was a 4runner with

Here, I just did some overlays. Not with the 3.4, but with the old Taco 4.0, the 4 runner 4.0 (dual VVTI), and the new 3.5. As you can see, the 3.5 makes more HP than the old taco 4.0, but less than the revised 4.0 that COULD have gone into a Tacoma. Plus it only makes more power up top, and suffers with some torque

This. I love the new tacos but can’t bring myself to purchase one with the new v6. It feels like a downgrade from the 4.0.

Actutally cars were a little over $17k on average, 20 years ago.

Thank goodness for “CHEEZUS!”

Just because I use more fuel than you, doesn’t mean I live inefficiently. I also have solar that covers my entire energy bill, LED smart-lighting in every socket, etc. You sound a bit on the smug/judgy side of the spectrum. We’ve owned much more efficient vehicles, in fact we owned a Fit the first year they came to

Surprisingly not. I live where it’s quiet in the hills and commute to North County San Diego. My wife commutes to Downtown San Diego. Our $580k house is a $1MM+ house anywhere close to where we work. That’s about $2,500/mo difference in mortgage payment over a 20 year loan. Plus I get to have some time to reflect on

I consider them from time to time, but prefer enjoying my drive each day. :)

Totally by choice, and I wouldn’t say those are poor MPG numbers. Not amazing, but still not poor. My 340i gets 24MPG and makes around 400hp, I’d say that’s pretty efficient for the power level.
