I live in the canyons outside San Diego. Awesome twisty roads. I’d much rather spend the money to drive cars I enjoy than save a few bucks in something boring.

I mean, it’s both.

$50! You guys don’t drive very much. My wife and I spend $700/mo in gas. But we drive a lot and live far from our jobs. 3 cars, all premium fuel, $3.75/gal CA price. Car A) 27k miles/yr, Car B) 15k miles/yr, Car C) 10k miles/yr. 25, 24, and 18MPG respectively.

Eh...I’ve had enough slow cars. I don’t need every car to be a rocket ship, but my other cars have double or more the power to weight ratio.

That’s right! I actually went and checked out one at this time. It was just to BLAAAHHHH for me.

I actually quite like the Crosstrek, especially that it has a 6 speed. But 152hp for 3200lbs is a no-go for me.

Sorry, should have said dropped the manual from the turbo variant.

My neighbor bought one when the last model first came out. They traded their S-Class for it. I don’t get it, but whatever.

Word. I miss my ‘06 sometimes. Sorry Subaru but the Forester was dead to me after you dropped the manual...and now it might as well be a RAV4.

I think it looks sweet. I like the new Ridgeline but think it looks pretty damn silly with its current front end.

not so.

I think it looks handsome. Not something you get excited over, but so much better than the Prius and previous insights.

Seriously. Both of my newer BMWs feel barely tolerable in NORMAL mode, and put them in ECO and it really does feel like there’s something wrong. Like the gas pedal is faulty and the turbo has seized or something. It’s not a pleasant experience and will net you VERY little economic benefits, in my experience.

Subaru. Seriously. STOP with the CVT thing. Just STOP. There are a gazillion great automatic transmissions available now.

Everyone knew this would happen, someday. The problem is all in perception. Because of human pride (or ignorance), we all believe we would do better in a particular emergency than a machine would. We are the superior species on the planet, not lidar-covered robo-cars.

I’m all for this. It sucks having to deal with California’s ethanol-laden 91 octane as the “best” option. My cars are all happier running 93+, and none are capable of utilizing e85 to their benefit without running injector duty cycle through the roof.

one-wheel-peel is lame as fuck.

ewe. No.

It makes me feel old saying this...when I was a kid, there were so many basic cars with roll-up windows, cloth interior, AC as an option, one side view mirror, etc. Now I feel like everyone has to have so many luxuries, they don’t even want to sell cheap cars here. I remember thinking people were rich because they had

Ironically...here in California, the land of over-regulation, this car could be driven on the street as long as it had brake lights. We do not have inspections like many other states do. As long as it passes “smog”and it has the VIN number from its original vehicle, it’s essentially legal to drive.
